The Swiss backpack brand QWSTION developed Bananatex® under an open-source project, the first technical and durable fabric made from fibers of the renewable Abacá banana plant, which is naturally cultivated sustainably in the Philippine highlands .Water-repellent quality is reinforced by a coating of beeswax and Ruco®-Dry Eco Plus finish.

For QWSTION, developing its own materials is the key to sustainability.
