The lecture series "MODE Thema MODE", which has been held by the Modebild – Lipperheidesche Kostümbibliothek collection since 2003, is dedicated to the exploration of the cultural history of clothing and fashion in an international context. The lecture series introduced by Adelheid Rasche has been continued since January 2017 by the Kunstgewerbemuseum in cooperation with netzwerk mode textil e. V. .
On Wednesday, March 14, 2018, 6 p.m., Friederike von Wedel-Parlow will speak in her contribution "Beneficial Design as a holistic innovation concept in fashion" about fashion and design as drivers of change that have an impact far beyond the industry itself. Beneficial Design intends to use this transformational power for a positive cultural change in our world; with positive effects for people, environment and economic activity. It is the vision of a positive cultural change by combining quality and innovation with design as a new definition of sustainability with a global claim. Beauty arises precisely at this interface: between aesthetically and culturally rich design and healthy processes.
