The traveling exhibition "Fast Fashion - The Dark Side of Fashion", curated by Dr. Claudia Banz for the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, invites visitors to take a critical look behind the scenes of the textile industry, fashion and consumption.
As part of the vernissage organized by the Goethe-Institute Manila, Friederike von Wedel-Parlow curated the "Slow Fashion Lab", a special area of the exhibition that focuses on a more positive approach to fashion and sustainability and inspires visitors to take concrete steps towards a more sustainable approach to clothing and textiles.
For the opening night, designers Noa Elizabeth Goren and Bojana Drača, alumni of ESMOD Berlin (International University of Art for Fashion) and the best fashion students of the University of the Philippines College of Home Economics (UP CHE), presented their work in a live performance with 20 models and a local DJ. The works showcased green alternatives that serve as examples of sustainable practices in fashion.
